The Burning Tail

Posted by admin on October 28th, 2008

Today was a smooth day, until the fire in the afternoon. I started my morning with coffee & Ozzbourne, my black Lab. sleeping on the couch in front of me like a spoiled child. Of course he got down when my husband got up. In the early afternoon, Breeze hung out with my husband at the computer following the mouse on the screen. At mid afternoon, my husband decided to start some lunch in the toaster. He came into our office, where I was working on finishing the bamboo necklace & spaced the lunch in the toaster. I heard a ding(the toaster) & then realized I smelled something burning. I said”burning”. My husband said “oh sh _t”. He ran to the kitchen & I heard him say “uh oh”. I quickly ran to see what was up. The lunch was on fire in the toaster! I quickly started opening doors, because the smoke was thick coming out of the toaster. At the same time I was making sure that my husband was smacking the fire out with a wet rag suffiecently. I had to turn on all my fans, open all the doors & some windows. I stood at my front door & was amazed of the smoke pooring out of my garage from the kithchen door that was open. While airing my house out I had to keep an eye on my cats to make sure they didn’t go outside. Vet. bills are cheaper if you keep your cats strictly indoors. They were really good. I’ve included a picture of a sticker I have on my front door for emergency purposes if I’m not home that I have pets that need to be saved. I think I got them either at Target or Lowe’s. They were only a couple of bucks for two. Pick some up & feel a little bit better about the safety of your animals.

The beginning of the tail

My occupation as a stagehand puts me at home a lot. Which allows me to enjoy the nature of my pets(animals). I have 2 cats, 1 dog, a fish & the presence of birds that I feed. I will introduce them as I post pictures of them. If they aren’t sleeping or eating, they are nosing into my business. I’ve decided to start a part time business working for pets. I create different pet merchandise. I work all over the house at times. This raises their curiosity level. It also raises my curiosity level. At times I have to stop working & investigate the odd noise I hear. Today, when I was finishing my Blue Heart Charm and White Macramed Pet Necklace I heard oddness. I discovered Breeze appreciating the taste of the recycled plastic bag that lines my office trash can. She was aware of my presence when I crouched on the floor near her to take pictures. Obviously, the bag tasted pretty good. She did not miss a lick. At least it wasn’t a bar of soap or my husbands deodorant that she liked when she was younger. Breezy is my oldest pet. She is 10.5 years old. My shop is named after her & she is also a merchandise model. To view my shop on ETSY, click on “my web page” under ” profile”. Smile & enjoy your pets!
