A Bed Tail In My Work Zone

Posted by admin on November 27th, 2008

I have been reading a great book called “Planet Cat-a cat-alog”. I wanted to share some of the quotes from the book with you.

“I love my cats because I love my home, and little by little they become it’s visible soul.”-Jean Cocteau

“The clever cat eats cheese and breaths down rat holes with baited breath.”-W.C. Fields

“A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere.”-Groucho Marx

“If animals could speak the dog would be a blundering outspoken fellow, but the cat would have the rare grace of never saying a word to much.”-Mark Twain

“Whether they be the musician cats in my band or the real cats of the world, they all got style.”-Ray Charles

I enjoyed reading these & I hope you did as well.

I have visitors in my work zone every time I’m creating or crafting.
I just had to add another bed next to my lamp for Breeze, so that she would have a spot other than in the middle of my work.

I recently joined Artfire & listed a few new items today. Model Harley is playing with the “puffy cat toy ball.”
I also added the “Dog Cookie Jar” & “Jingle Bell Pet Ribbon/Decoration.”

Toilet Training Kitty Tail

Posted by admin on November 24th, 2008

In my last blog, I mentioned Bill Nye-”The Science Guy” suggesting toilet training your cat. Litter is supposdley bad for the environment. I checked out a “How To-Toilet Train Your Cat”(21 days to a litter free home). The training basically consists of: weaning your cat off the smell of scented & then unscented litter, raising the height of the litter box by couple inches per day till it’s at the height of the toilet, then using plastic wrap in the center of toilet as a miniature litter box in the final phase. Some deciding factors that made me decide this is not for me or my cats: my “Tabatha”, who is in kitty heaven now was not a good aim at all,Harley is 21 pounds and falls off the side of the tub into the tub of water. Breeze is prissy and would not go for the watching in training at all. Check the book out by Paul Kunkel. He also teaches about litter box training.

Harley is the star in the pictures. You can see why it’s hard for me to get work done sometimes.
His bed, that he has fallen out of, is under my desk.
Snooping inside grocery bags is a must of his as well.

Good luck with the toilet training of your cat.

The Hand Crafted Gift Wrap Tail

Posted by admin on November 16th, 2008

This morning I watched a recorded episode of “Bill Nye -The Science Guy”. It was about kitty litter. Supposedly it is bad for the environment. Bill recommended toilet training your cat, which takes only a couple of weeks. He mentioned there were guides to help you do so. I will have to look into that.
Earlier, I posted new pictures on my ETSY shop of my own hand crafted gift wrapping for purchases from my shop. I also posted in my shop announcements that all items will come gift wrapped. The poka dotted box,the yellow envelope & the recipe box I designed myself. The green package I tweaked from a Japanese money wrapper. My gift wrapping will be one of kind each time with changes in color & patterns. I really like the poka dot box & recipe box. Please, venture over to my shop on ETSY & have a look at my inventory.
Have you ever seen a cat play dead? Or like to look at the world upside down? This has been a favorite position of Harley’s since he was a kitten. I just love those Grey toes he has. Standing with one paw in the dish or hugging the dish is a habit of his from being in the dog dish when he was a kitten. I have to tell Harley every day to get out of the dog food. I asked the vet when he suddenly reached 18 pounds if he was fat from nibbling on dog food. He said no, he’s just a big cat. Harley at age 4.5 years old now weighs 21 pounds. I don’t pick him up that often. Have you noticed how a cats coat doesn’t look anything like it did when they were a kitten? My pets have nicely modeled some of my inventory & can be seen on my shop. The Art & Craft History of the Tail

Posted by admin on November 7th, 2008

I would like to tell you about my art & craft. Knots were used by ancient civilizations including the Egyptians, Greeks & Romans. They have probably even predated fire.Today, knots are most commonly used on a daily basis in theatre, sailing, fishing, camping & climbing. I started using knots in macrame’ 15 years ago. I now use knots daily at work. I have studied,by reading & applications, the knots that I use in my handcrafted items for their durability. Most importantly I have studied the materials(cord, line, rope) stretch & construction that I use. I take into consideration the reduction of the ropes strength & how it will be used. Knotting reduces the strength of a rope, line or cord by up to 50 percent depending on the knot used. I decided to apply my art & craft of knotting into animal supplies & accessories because I have always wanted to work with pets. If I had the land I would own a sanctuary. Instead I will donate the proceeds of my featured item on MissBreezysBox.etsy.com to Heaven Can Wait Sanctuary here in Las Vegas,Nv. I know my pets appreciate my work from the attention they give each item as I’m working on it or the attention they give to getting in my way when I’m on the computer. I occasionally stop & play with them. Pictures I’ve included in this blog show some play times. Harley liked the sheet that my husband was folding & the black/white leash I was working on. Breeze had to attack during the peak a boo game & a moment I didn’t catch on camera was her watching me in the middle of the night rough drafting this blog post. Enjoy your pets & I hope you enjoy my art & crafting.

Kitty printing tail

Posted by admin on November 2nd, 2008

I sometimes sell items from my house on ebay. On saturday, while I was printing a test page on my old printer before packing it, I noticed I wasn’t alone. My youngest cat-Harley(“mister”,”baby”,”harliekins”) heard the action & got very curious about what the printer was doing, not what I was doing. He likes to investigate “into” things. He has investigated our master shower remodel, under the beds, in boxes, under covers, in bags & almost everything that comes into the house.
He hung out with the printer for about 15 minutes waiting for it to do something else. It didn’t, I was done with it as soon as he got started. When I was ready to place it into the shipping box, I just picked it up & he slid off the paper tray. This is not a light task, removing him, he ways 21 pounds.
He is not fat according to my vet, he is just big. His meow(cries at times) sounds like it belongs to a kitten. He is the biggest baby. Today I added a new item to my shop on ETSY. Pretty with pink dog leash. Hope you like.
