It’s Been Awhile Tail

Posted by admin on January 21st, 2009

Well, It has been awhile since my last post. I’ve been busy with work & some researching. I will be starting a vegetable garden soon in containers. With the nasty soil/dirt we have out here in Las Vegas, it would be cheaper for me to go that route.
Do you have old CDs or DVDs you want to get rid of? You can help homeless animals by donating them to discsfordogs.org, where they’ll be sold & 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Erie county SPCA in New York. They’ll even reimburse you for shipping, so you don’t pay a thing.

Just thought I would give you some pet picks to look at for your enjoyment.
Harley likes to be carried around. His favorite way is on your forearm, which is very hard to do , since he weighs 21 pounds. You can see that my Husband is struggling in the first picture trying to carry him that way. This is Harley’s favorite nap spot. Right next to the bird feeder outside. You can kinda see him using 1 leg to catch his back legs from falling out of the bed.
Ozzbourne got a good brushing & some great back scratching. He mones when his chin goes up in the air. It just feels so good.
Breeze makes our bed hers all winter long. She sleeps more than Harley now. She is 10.5 years old now. She hogs the bed in the middle of the night. She is only on one edge of it, but somehow her 8 pound body takes up half the bed. It’s a king size bed.
I have finally included a picture to my main page of my Jack Dimpsey. He hides alot, so the picture was hard to get. I told my Husband earlier today that he hides because he’s mad you never named him. I named him “Jack”. I think it fits. He has been out alot since the naming.

It appears alot of bloggers have not posted in weeks, as I hadn’t. Get your behind in gear & do some writting. Oh, I mean blogging.

New Year Tail

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone has a positive & productive year to come. I spent the first day of the New Year having a second Christmas with my In-Laws. They were snowed in at their home in Oregon and could not make it for Christmas.
I have always remembered my pets for the holidays and have given them treats and new toys as gifts. Harley mingled with the dogs when they received there gifts. He stayed next to the tree and out of there way and managed not to get stepped on. I managed to catch a picture of him licking his chops after a cat treat. He does enjoy his dog treats as well. Ozzbourne was his picky self when handed his new squeaky bone. Bogart, my In-Laws dog, was a pig and refused to share his new zebra.
I hope your holidays were filled with joy as mine were.

I’ve been reading another book “Old Dog,New Tricks.”
Here are some quotes from the book:

” I am his Highness’ dog at Kew: pray tell me, sir, whose dog are you?”
Alexander Pope;engraved on a collar that he gave to his royal highness the future King George I.

“Outside of a dog, a book is a man’s best friend. Inside of a dog, it’s too dark to read.”
Groucho Marx

“A dog has the soul of a philosopher.” Plato

“Brothers and sisters, I bid you beware of giving your heart to a dog to tear.”
Rudyard Kipling, “The Power Of The Dog”

In the future I will include some interesting readings from this book about dogs.

I have been working long hours at my full time job as a stagehand putting in the Consumer Electronics Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. I will be getting some days off next week and I’m anxious to create and craft. My mother In-Law likes to craft, so we will have a day of craft supply shopping first. Here we come Joann’s and Michael’s.

Be sure to comment about you and your pets Christmas or New Year celebration.
