❀I apologize for my absence in the Internet world the past week+. I lost my Dad to cancer. He battled with it over and over the past 30 years.
So here is some awesome animal dads in the animal kingdom:
Emperor Penguins-They keep the eggs warm for 2 months without eating until hatched and feed the young a milky substance that resembles milk.
Sea Horse-The only male animal capable of giving birth. He can deliver up to 200 sea horses and then want to become impregnated again after a painful labor.
South American Marmoset-The fathers sometimes act as midwifes and take over after a few weeks in the raising of the young.
Red Fox-The male does the hunting to provide for the family including the mother. Plays with the young and buries scraps in the ground to teach them the skills for survival.
Darwin Frog-After the female lays the eggs, the male puts them in his vocal sac. The eggs will continue to develop in the male’s vocal sac, until they become tadpoles. He is still able to eat. Once there tails fall off they leave the protection of there father.
Jacana-Once the female lays the eggs, the father takes over all the duties of a mother, while the mother is off copulating with multiple males.
Flamingo- These fathers help build the nest, incubate and produce a milk-like substance to feed right along with the mother.
Silverback Gorilla-The dominate male is the patriarch in a family of 20-30 where he will resolve disputes, act as mediator, protect from outside threats and guide the troop while seeking out food.
Great Horned Owl-These fathers are 25% smaller than the mothers and must feed them and his chicks for 2-3 months.

☮ Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your fathers. ♥
