I’m not mousing around.

Mouse facts:

  • A rat can walk longer on desert than a camel without drinking water.
  • Mice have tails that are as long as their bodies.
  • Mice see best in dim light. Their eyesight is weak, but their other senses are acute.
  • Mice have teeth that never stop growing. Mice teeth can grow up to 5 inches a year.
  • Mice squeak at very high frequencies, often above the range of human hearing.
  • Mice can jump down 12 feet without injury; they also have a 12-inch vertical jump.
  • Mice explore their territory daily, showing no aversion to new objects (neophobia).
  • The female mouse ovulates every other day.
  • A baby mouse is called a pinky, or a kitten. A female is called a doe. A male is called a buck

Uh…I’m kinda scared about there teeth growing 5″ a year.

Harley has decided that two beds -in- 1 is much more comfortable.

Are you jealous?

Sometimes Ozzbourne is a very intelligent dog and then sometimes he’s not. I tried several attempts today to get him to look at me through the window in our back door. As you can see, my attempts failed.

Have a great weekend!

An Interview With Ozzbourne Tail

Posted by admin on May 10th, 2010

Good Evening, this is Patricia and I’m here with Ozzbourne,  my Black Labrador Retriever. I have been given permission to interview him, here on the couch.

Patricia: Do you know where you came from?

Ozzbourne: I don’t really remember. I do know it was a bad place.

Patricia: Do you remember the day you were adopted?

Ozzbourne: YES! You adopted me from a shelter that I lived in for a month. I think I was a birthday gift for the big man.  I do know you wanted me to help with the time for Rufus and Titan to pass over the rainbow bridge.

Patricia: What do you think of your adoptive siblings?

Ozzbourne: I love my kitties. Breeze is queen of the house and I love how she brushes against me. I don’t have the relationship with her like she did with Rufus.

Harley, he’s funny and my buddy.  He’s been eating out of my food dish since he was a kitten. I don’t mind sharing with him. We clean each others ears and we always have to be around the action.

My forever siblings; Rufus,Titan and Tabatha. I miss them and I know you and the big guy still cry over them from occasionally. I’m glad to assist in easing  your pain.

Patricia: What are your favorite toys?

Ozzbourne: A big rope that I like to greet you with when you come home to take outside and play. I have a bear you gave me, a one armed monkey-I guess the big guy got tired of sewing one back on, a goofy dog and sometimes I like the tied socks to play tug-a-war.

Patricia: Do you have any duties as the only dog of the house?

Ozzbourne: I’m your personal greeter and a guard dog. My best guard dog trick is to intimidate. Hehe, some people are so afraid. They should be. Don’t you think?

Patricia: Yes, you use to scare me with your intimidating. I get it now.

Patricia:What do you think of your adoptive human parents?

Ozzbourne: You rescued me and I’m very grateful. I love smelling you hair, especially right after you shampooed it. Thanks for letting me rub my scent on it.

The big guy…-our play fighting is so much fun. It’s a guy thing.  I really like the treats he gives me occasionally when I’m attentive.

Patricia: What is your favorite thing in the world to do?

Ozzbourne: I love going for walks, hikes and to the park where I can hunt for rabbits, cats, birds, chipmunks or whatever else moves.

Patricia: Well, thank you Ozzbourne,  I don’t have anymore questions.

I have enjoyed interviewing you. You’re a very good dog. Would you like to add something?

Ozzbourne: Yes. Tell the readers to check out the interview you did with Breeze and to remember to adopt from there local animal shelter.

Ozzbourne: Woof! (thank you)

Bird Tail

Posted by admin on May 3rd, 2010

I like to listen to birds. What cat doesn’t like to watch them? Here are some bird baths that I would like to have for my yard.

First some….

Bird Facts:

The world’s only wingless bird is the kiwi of New Zealand.

Pigeons can reach speeds up to 100 mph.

Swifts, doves, falcons, and sandpipers can approach 200 mph.

The only known poisonous bird in the world is the hooded pitohui of Papua, New Guinea. The poison is found in its skin and feathers.

Penguins, ostriches, and dodo birds are all birds that do not fly.
